Dan Harrington

Director, Head of Capital Markets and Investments

Dan Harrington is Head of Capital Markets and Investments, where he is responsible for executing the firm's investment and capital strategies. Dan has more than 30 years of diverse real estate and hospitality industry experience, highlighted by participating in more than $2.0 billion worth of real estate debt, equity, and development transactions.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Dan founded Brantwood Capital to selectively invest and develop hospitality and residential properties; and was also a partner and head of real estate investments for the Patriot Group, an approx. $500 million assets under management (AUM) Asset Based Lending credit opportunity fund that invested in a wide range of real estate and asset based structured debt.

Dan has worked in the real estate groups of Lehman Brothers, Nomura Securities and CapitalSource; and was also an active participant during the early 1990s in purchasing distressed loan portfolios from the RTC, FDIC and commercial banks while working for a venture created by the J.E. Robert / Goldman Sachs Whitehall Funds. Dan earned his Master’s degree from the Hospitality School at Florida International University and a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University.

Dan enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures with his wife and two daughters; as well as a full roster of sporting activities, which include tennis, cycling, golf and “trying to get away for an annual scuba diving trip.”
